I lived here with my sister during our senior year at WCU. We had a 4 bed & 4 bath floorplan with two of our friends. We all moved to 808 West as we were all waitlisted/low-key kicked out of our dorm on campus to make room for underclassmen students. 808 was the clear option for all of us when we were comparing options close to campus. Five factors really sealed the deal: (In no particular order)
1. The apartment complex is very clean and well kept. And, it is right across the street from WCU's... entrance. Walking to campus was great.
2. When all four of us applied together, we got a deal on our rent. That was nice.
3. The staff are wonderful! So sweet, incredibly communicative, and quickly responded to any concerns. I want to especially shout out the maintenance.
4. The bedrooms are a good size! I really loved my bathroom. The shower was GREAT. There's a built-in seat.
5. I appreciated the amount of sun. The windows were all a nice size. I love brightness.
The ONLY big problem we had was water damage caused from upstairs neighbors. The damage was located in my sister's bathroom and our kitchen.
Once we told the staff, they acted very quickly, assessing the damage as well as informing the folks above us to stop whatever they were doing.
Turns out the bathroom water damage was caused by standing water outside of a shower. The shower liner the person had was too short. (Definitely something to consider, get the right size!)
At first, this person ignored the warnings from the staff. But, the property manager went out of her way to personally buy him a new shower liner that would fit. That was such a nice gesture. I hope she knows how much we appreciate that!
