Construction Chaos

Laurel Curve has been subjected to loud and disruptive construction on the unit for months as they try to fix mold and water damage. They have had half the building covered by a tarp blocking outside light for 2+ months now and will continue for at least 2 more. They frequently reschedule dates they need unit access for construction. They start a project, and leave it unfinished for weeks; I haven't had trim or drywall around my patio door for almost 6 weeks. And all of this with little to no... communication from management to tenets.

Do not move in and expect to be respected.

Property Manager at Laurel Village responded to this review

Thank you for sharing your concerns. We truly understand how challenging it can be to live through an extended construction project, and we’re very sorry for the disruption you’ve experienced.

The exterior work at Laurel Curve is part of a planned...
hail damage restoration effort that includes the roof and siding. Because these materials were already being removed, we took the opportunity to complete additional long-term improvements—such as replacing older windows and doors—so residents wouldn’t face another round of exterior disruption in the future. These upgrades will bring a refreshed, modern look to the community and provide high performance windows and patio doors designed to enhance comfort, efficiency, and overall enjoyment of your home.

Projects of this scale can be affected by weather and material availability, which sometimes requires schedule adjustments or phased work. When timelines or access needs shift, we work to share updates as soon as we receive confirmed information from our contractors. We know that reduced natural light and temporary interior impacts can be especially frustrating when you’re living in the space every day. While these conditions are temporary, they’re still inconvenient, and we genuinely appreciate your patience. Our goal is for the finished result to feel well worth the wait.

Your feedback is incredibly valuable, and we take concerns about communication seriously. Insights like yours help us continue improving how we plan, coordinate, and communicate large scale projects moving forward.

Previous Tenant

I lived at Laurel Village for two years. Just found out that Amazon delivered packages yesterday to that address rather than my new address. I called to see if they could check to see if my package might still be in the entryway as they always were when I lived there. Response: We are too busy to do that!

STAY AWAY

Good location, ok price (for the first year ONLY). That is where my list of good things ends. Read the bad reviews and believe them! Management is not helpful and rude. Guest parking sucks. The apartments literally fall apart more and more everyday to the point where you no longer want to call maintenance cause they will be in your home EVERY DAY. Plus the last time they were in my apartment they were supposed to fix something on the main floor yet EVERY SINGLE light was on I’m my apartment and... that is the only utility they make me pay for. - Never called maintenance again, just living in a broken down apartment. Can’t wait to get out. Do waste your time out your money - it’s 100% not worth it!

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. You’re right, often apartments can offer attractive move-in specials. These specials are geared toward new residents as a one-time marketing investment to help them justify packing up their... belongings and going through the cost and stress of moving to a new apartment complex. The hope is that they will remain residents for many years after that. So while we aren’t able to extend this special to renewing residents, we still want to do what we can to make sure they are getting exceptional long-term value by keeping rents as competitive as possible without sacrificing the value and services offered.

Our dedicated maintenance and management teams play a crucial role in retaining long-term residents, and we are sorry to hear that we may have fallen short of your expectations. We acknowledge that all residential properties experience unexpected maintenance issues, and it's important to us that we fully understand the specific incidents you have encountered. The good news is that Laurel Village covers the cost of almost all repairs and has an amazing maintenance team to resolve them as quickly as possible. If you have not experienced this level of service, we would like to hear about it and address any further concerns you may have.

High on promise, Low on delivery

I moved from out of state and when I was talking with the agent they never once mentioned that due to construction the amenities in my building would be closed for 6 months of my lease. That's crooked in my book. They have a beautiful sundeck, That you are not allowed out on if it lightly sprinkles rain and they close access to whenever there is a parade. They talk about the movie theater and movie night as well as game night. Game night is always Bingo so bring your grandma vibes and the movie... picks are all done by one person with horrible movie taste. Priced high for all of the failures. The first week I lived here there were several thefts in the secure garage and when I have scheduled guest parking for visitors the unprofessional security staff has parked in the reserved spacing causing me to have to call in and get other parking arranged last minute. The Air Conditioning in the entire building has been out for days in the middle of summer and any communication on the community wall bulletin board they offer is heavily censored and any criticism of the operation of the property is redacted. Its a beautiful property with an excellent location but is poorly managed and maintained. The office staff is always friendly but I will definitely not be renewing my lease.

Thank you for your feedback. We understand your concerns regarding the building renovations and amenity closure in the Hennepin Crossing Highrise. The renovations offer a new and improved building with state-of-the-art equipment and furnishings that... rival those in new buildings being built downtown. For this reason, we hoped that residents would be ok using the other building’s amenities temporarily and that they would feel the inconvenience was worth it in the long run. We are now in the final phase of the renovations, which includes the entry lobby, then our beautiful new building will be complete!

Regarding the outdoor patio, access has been limited due to safety concerns we have encountered. For example, the rooftop patio was closed during parades because the street below is not visible without climbing onto the elevated planter beds and peering over the edge, which is extremely dangerous. For the safety of our residents, the only viable option is to temporarily restrict access to this area.

We welcome your suggestions for resident events and movie selections, as we are always looking for new ideas to appeal to a diverse spectrum of residents. We currently host over 100 events annually. We hope you will reconsider and renew your lease. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns. We want you to be happy in your home and feel that you are in the right place.

Management is awful

Property management communication is just not present. If you plan to apply and have any questions regarding the property, good luck. Their email responses are uninformative and robotic, despite taking about an entire work week to respond. The struggle to communicate with them will be something you have to live with if you consider this place your home.
