If you’re looking for the most bang-for your buck in Downtown Royal Oak I can’t imagine doing better than Wagon Wheel. This may not be a luxury apartment building, but it has all of the essentials at a fantastic rate, and you just can’t beat that location! You can walk to anything in minutes, its spacious, has a beautiful courtyard, ample parking, and the list goes on.
Beyond that, I can’t say enough good things about the manager, Al. This is the second property I have lived in managed by and... him and on top of being incredibly friendly, Al is also incredibly helpful and good at his job. Whenever you need anything he is quick to respond and handle the situation. If you have a maintenance issue he will get someone out there as soon as possible, and he has always been incredibly flexible with me when scheduling didn’t quite work out. If the situation were different, I would love to have stayed at Wagon Wheel longer, as me leaving had nothing to do with the great property or the excellent management.

Amazing Management and Location!
This is the best location, I walk downtown royal oak almost every day ots a 5 minute walk tops. Management is excellent, they truly care about their residents I cannot stress this enough!

Excellent Location, Fair Price
Although the facilities and apartments are outdated, I have not had any problems that needed maintenance and the location is amazing. Walking distance to all shops/restaurants. Fair price for the location and facility combination.

Great combination of location and price
I’ve lived here for five years and it has been a very pleasant experience. While the building is somewhat old, the apartments themselves look very nice, and the wide open floor plan gives you plenty of options on how to arrange your furniture. I’ve had very few issues while living here, and the few I had were addressed immediately. The property manager Al is fantastic and addresses concerns right away. For the price you pay and the location you’re at (walking distance to the main Royal Oak... strip), it’s definitely worth it.

Excellent Location, Nice Apartment, Great Price
I am going on my second year at Wagon Wheel. When I found these apartments I couldn't believe how reasonable the rent was for such a great location, just a block off of Main St. The apartment itself has well kept units. I have only a few minor service requests and the management was very responsive each time. Great apartment for the price.
