NATURE FRIENDLY SPACIOUS APARTMENT

I've lived at Ramblewood for 3.5 years. Among the positive things I can say are: 1) I like the location of my apartment, which has a beautiful view from the living room and balcony overlooking the wooded areas. The apartment is spacious for a one-bedroom apartment; I find it very comfortable and has plenty of room. I've visited other apartment complexes, but none have I seen a one-bedroom apartment as spacious as mine. 2) Maintenance requests are responded to promptly, and the maintenance staff,... for example, Jake, is very diligent and respectful. 3) The area where I live is very quiet, and I've never had any problems with outside noise or with neighbors. 4) Finally, I can say that the location is excellent for accessing Grandville's shopping areas or restaurants in 5 minutes, or for taking the highways. Also I dont like the 35 ammenities fee that includes the pool, and other amenities I never use. The pool is small and always is full ok kids. The aspects I don't like are the lack of cleanliness in the common areas. For example, the stairs are carpeted and are not cleaned frequently, making them look disgusting. Likewise, in the parking lot, you can see trash or filth from residents who are not well-behaved. Overall, the office staff has been respectful and diligent in responding to my concerns. I've never experienced crime, but that's a factor that depends on the general population. I've seen reports of robberies or assaults in other areas of the Wyoming community, Grandville, and it's not a problem unique to Ramblewood.

Safety is not their concern

My sister and I started renting a unit in the fall. Recently we have suspicions that someone has been going in and out of our apartment. We brought it up to those at the office and they suggested we change our locks. We went to maintenance and the lady there was extremely rude and did not check our IDs when we asked to change our locks; which did not assure us that they cared for our safety or those of its tenants. We went back to the office to ask if we need to provide IDs when we ask to change... our locks. They told us we are supposed to and when we brought to their attention that they weren’t checking IDs and verifying we are the tenants. They told us to go back to the maintenance and ask for Judy or Chris. The lady tending to us before was Judy. We brought to her attention that she’s supposed to verify our identity and that all she did was ask for our apartment number when we asked to change the locks. She told is that maintenance would check our IDs when they go to check the locks. We then brought up an earlier instance in February when I went to get another mailbox key for I had lost mine. All she did was ask for my name and apartment number. She never once asked for my ID and instead just gave me the key. When we told her this her response was as followed. “A key to your mailbox isn’t a key to your apartment.” This response shocked me as she should be checking the identity of whoever asks for ANY key or for locks to be changed. This made me feel as if the management and the employees there did not care for the safety of its tenants.

Absolute Dump

Living at these apartments has been an awful experience due to numerous safety and maintenance issues. Crime is a constant problem, just look on the newsbreak crime map!!! with frequent incidents of cars being broken into or stolen—mine included and on Sept 10th of this year, a 15-year-old boy was shot on Crooked Tree Rd, a road inside the complex. Even more disturbing, my teenage son was waiting for his school bus on Fox Run Rd when a random stranger pointed a gun at his chest for no reason at... all. On top of the safety concerns, the maintenance is subpar. The washing machines and dryers consistently leave my clothes soaking wet, forcing me to spend extra money and time drying them again. The lack of safety and upkeep makes living here extremely stressful!!!

Just got here, seems nice

Staff is friendly, main building is very clean and welcoming. Amy Preston was able to help my family sign our lease quickly and made sure everything was understood thoroughly. Very helpful and inviting as well. Honorable mention is that she is very pretty!

Avoid

This is the first time I've felt compelled to leave a bad review & the first time I've reviewed an apartment complex I've lived in. But this has been such a terrible experience all around that I can't warn enough people in my life to avoid moving here. The story is long but to make it short: we were heavily mislead at move-in, our apartment was not at all what we were told would be and then we were basically told we misremembered what we were told. We have had many issues beyond that including... car gone through, packages stolen, dumpsters are gone through on a daily basis. This is not a safe or quiet environment. We are counting down the days to move out. We have tried to reach out to management 3+ times and the manager has just blatantly ignored us entirely and the other staff has either had a bad or dismissive attitude. At this point we don't care to be in contact with anyone anymore because the lack of care has been made loud and clear and it has been exhausting trying to get any points across. I am not sure why they respond to everyone that leaves a bad review that they take complaints seriously and to reach out because if you do reach out, you get either poor treatment or get totally ignored. It's been beyond disappointing. The only plus here is the maintenance team, which has always been nice. But that is the only bonus. It's worth noting I have lived here in the past before management changed, and it was an entirely different experience then. I had a great experience the first time around which is why I recommend to my husband that we move in here. Biggest regret ever. Please look elsewhere. There are many other options at a better price. Save your peace of mind.
