After raising serious concerns, none of my issues were properly addressed. Instead, I was met with intimidation and dismissal. I’ve been made aware that the property manager told staff and residents, “If she’s so scared, why doesn’t she just leave?” — which is completely unacceptable and unprofessional.

Rather than prioritizing safety, I was given the runaround and made to feel unreasonable and untrustworthy. This is especially upsetting considering I’ve always tried to support this community —... whether it was providing meals for staff or reporting suspicious activity in the parking lot to help keep the area safe. I have yet to speak to a person who is above and concerned.

To go from being a supportive resident to being shut out and treated this way is extremely disappointing. I once genuinely loved living here and even had positive interactions with ownership, which makes this experience even more disheartening. I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for the 13 wonderful years I spent as a resident of City Place, formerly known as Skyview Towers. My journey began in December 2012 when I was approved to move in, and by January, I was settling into Apartment 701. Though the layout was different from what I expected—my bedroom was on the left instead of the right—I quickly grew to love my space and the community around me.

Over the years, I witnessed remarkable improvements to the property: new... carpeting, fresh paint, and the addition of a fitness and community area. I was fortunate to be offered a new apartment during these upgrades, and with each move, I continued to enjoy the company of respectful and friendly floor mates. The hallways were always clean, quiet, and welcoming—never once did I experience or hear of a break-in during my entire stay.

The maintenance staff consistently went above and beyond. They were kind, responsive, and always willing to help. While the property saw several managers over the years, I must say that Monique and Dee have been the absolute best. Their professionalism, warmth, and dedication to residents made a lasting impression on me. They always greeted me with a smile and worked tirelessly to ensure my needs were met.

Security at City Place was top-notch. Anytime I called, they responded quickly and with care. Even when challenges arose—such as elevator breakdowns—the staff did everything in their power to resolve the issues and communicate with ownership to bring about lasting solutions. I’ve seen firsthand the effort they’ve put into installing new elevators, despite the frustrations expressed by some. Their commitment to improvement and safety never wavered.

I’ll miss the view from my window, especially during the beautiful Detroit winters. My heating and air conditioning were always reliable, and regular home and pest inspections helped maintain a clean and comfortable living environment.

As I move on to a new chapter, I want to sincerely thank the entire City Place team for their dedication, kindness, and hard work. You’ve created a safe, secure, and welcoming home for so many—including me. I’m grateful for every moment.

I’ve lived in my one-bedroom apartment in downtown Detroit for ten years, and it’s truly been home. All utilities are included, which is a huge plus. The building is secure, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. I feel safe and well cared for here. Highly recommend!

I have been here for almost 2 years. Very clean updated apartment. I haven't seen any bugs in the apartment for well over a year now. Cleanliness helps with bug/roach concerns. Management especially Monique, and security are both helpful and understanding. I like that security is onsite and in the parking lot. As a single female it's important to me. If you like being near the water like me, you'll appreciate the location and the view. If you work downtown, you can walk to work in 20 mins and... drive there in 5 mins.
