As a long-time standing resident of Island Club, I cannot understand the negative comment of a former employee that did not do their job. I myself had nothing but positive experiences with the maintenance staff, management staff even the Regional Manager. When the Regional Manager visits, she stops and talks with the residents and truly cares. Maintenance always addresses my repairs in a timely manner and communicates with me throughout the process.

I’m writing from a unique perspective: I have experienced this property as BOTH a resident and an employee.

I gave an extraordinary amount to this community for $18/hr—leasing, resident relations, collections, court matters, cleaning units and daily office operations. I worked evenings and weekends to accommodate prospects. Just before my termination, I worked abnormal weekend hours to help a single father get into his apartment.

I genuinely cared about residents. I once ran approximately a... mile to help a senior resident retrieve his dog. Immediately before walking into the office to be terminated, I stopped at that same resident’s apartment and took out his trash.

Then I walked into the office and was fired.

Management cited my availability, occupancy and alleged failure to mentor a new employee. I strongly disagree with how those circumstances were characterized, particularly after the flexibility and additional responsibilities management had relied upon from me.

My concerns go deeper than my termination. The Regional Manager once told me meaningful change would not happen unless I essentially “went on strike” and stopped performing certain work. Later, my understanding of that conversation was disputed.

I was also asked by the Regional Manager to delete emails from a property manager’s email account in an effort, as it was explained to me, to help save that manager’s job. That request made me extremely uncomfortable.

As a resident, I am also concerned about an ongoing property leak that I did not see fully resolved while working onsite, while residents expressed concerns about high water bills. Residents deserve transparency about known leaks and how their water charges are calculated.

I also personally observed moisture, discoloration and suspected mold-like growth in units and HVAC vents. I cannot say every substance was professionally confirmed as mold, but residents deserve proper investigation of leaks, moisture and suspected growth.

Some of the positive experiences associated with this property were real.

I still care about this community and its residents. What changed is my ability to endorse management after seeing operations from behind the desk.

I live at island club almost 2 years now and it has been so Amazon living here the staff is very nice and friendly the maintenance staff are very nice and friendly and is always on top of anything that goes wrong in the apartment. I never had an issue living here. I would give it 10/10 stars.

Island Club apartments are the best place to live. It is quiet, clean and has wonderful amenities and community gatherings. Cindy is FABULOUS. She puts so much work into making sure the apartments are well maintained. She treats her renters like family. If you are looking for a place

If I could give this property 10 stars I would! The staff are amazing, helpful, caring, and very passionate about there residents. The pool and fitness center is very clean! If you have any concerns at all Cindy and her staff are on it ASAP! Definitely, if you are looking for a great place to live check this property out! :)
