I applied for lease two months ago, placed the incorrect term and was told to create a new one and that I would be refunded for the canceled lease. Well it is now two months later and I have not been refunded. I have called and sent multiple emails, each time I am either ignored or they tell me to call back later. I am extremely disappointed. I heard good things about this complex, but the fact that they will not refund me my 300 dollars is a bad sign.

My son is living at Chauncey Square. The apartment is nice, and the maintenance staff seems responsive. The rent is very high; in my opinion management is charging a high premium for their product. What bothers me is that they lured him in with a 9-month lease, which is very nice for a college student whose home base is not in the Lafayette area. But now that he is there, and needs a place to live next year, they have withdrawn the 9-month lease option. To make matters worse, they do not allow... subletting. Instead they do a reletting which transfers the lease to the temporary resident, and then transfers it back to my son. And on top of that, they charge him a fee for that.

So, they are already charging outrageously high rent and then they get him over a barrel with a 12-month lease and make it difficult to sublet. I give it two stars because the apartment is nice, the internet speeds are really good, and it's close to campus. If you don't mind overpaying, you'll probably like it at Chauncey. Read More

The amenities listed are very vague. The apartment comes with all electric appliances and the gym, game room and theater are all subpar amenities. Half of the games don't function. The apartment has cheap furniture that falls apart immediately. The actual cost per month of living here is laughably high. The location is convenient, but that is shadowed by the unhelpful staff and irresponsible maintenance.

"Furnished" apartments really only include select apartments on the bottom floors where they showcase them and give tours in. Gym is cool if everyone knew what re-rack meant. Manager is VERY condescending and rude. Walls are super thin, I can hear neighbors everyday conversations, just think about how annoying that is when parties are going on. Some only pros include the fact that its very close to campus.

I'm a college student at Purdue University and this is my first time living in an apartment. I live in the new phase, Phase 2, of Chauncey Square Apartments. Overall I'd have to say that Chauncey Square is a very nice apartment complex. There are a few things that I think were done cheaply, for example in the bathroom you cannot turn on the light without the accompanying fan (which is very loud by the way)and the cabinets chip very easily. However there are some fantastic features in this phase... of the apartment such as the granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. The community facilities, such as the gym, game room, study room and theater are very well kept and are supplied with top-notch equipment. Above all the location is amazing; it is right in the middle of Chauncey where everything happens on campus, and classes are a short walk away.
