Does this place cost a little more? Yup. And for that, you get a well-maintained, gorgeous property. There's an Amazon Locker onsite, two grocery stores right down the street (with delivery), Kohl's (clothes + free Amazon returns), and a ton of restaurants.

The walls are THICC — have a radio/TV because you likely won't hear storm sirens, let alone neighbors. They have an exterminator onsite weekly; comprehensive interior/exterior spray is free, max 7-day wait. Should only need this quarterly,... unless you're nasty. Massive selling point they should advertise. One thing I wasn't warned about: there's a lot of farm area nearby, which means hot summer days can smell like cow scheiße because "fertilizer". Not constant, but worth knowing. All unit doors are ground-level, no shared communal hallways. Second-floor units have interior stairs — brilliant for privacy and cleanliness.

Inside complaints: carpet in the dining space/bathrooms (weird, suboptimal, hopefully temporary (please?)). Bathrooms have tile around the toilet/shower, but that's it. The kitchen sink is also absurdly shallow — 3-4 inches deep. If you cook, pray all your cookware's dishwasher-safe. Fireplaces are wood-burning only (electric unit, no gas), so mine's "decorative" lol. Stove is electric coil, not glass-top (harder to clean, but manageable). On the upside: huge closets, huge rooms, high ceilings. You can request maintenance install pre-purchased ceiling fans or toilets — their stock toilets are small, so if you possess your own gravitational field like I do, budget to replace them. Fans go with you when you leave, toilets stay, but honestly worth it. And maintenance installs for free, so no electrical / plumbing degrees needed.

Maintenance is fast — confirmation within 24 hours, service often same-day or within a couple days. No horror-story waits here. These people want this place to be nice, and it shows.

Honestly, I'm writing this because reviews skew salty. This one's for someone like me who just wants an honest take: Windsor Oaks is a solid place to live. Be reasonable, make their lives easy, they'll return the favor. Can't speak to the move-out practices the last reviewer mentioned, but a few years in, I wouldn't wanna live anywhere else - except maybe somewhere with better public transit, but hell, it IS Indiana after all, so whatcha gonna do. You couldn't pay me enough to move back to this place. While you're living there, it's great. Until the office finds an opportunity to charge you money. Then they'll take every penny they can find any excuse to take from you. I got charged hundreds of dollars after I moved out because a "professional" said the apartment smelled strongly of pet urine and there were urine spots all over the apartment. Over 10 people who were in and out of my apartment said that it never smelled like urine or had... any odor whatsoever. They were also in the process of cleaning and painting the apartment when this inspection supposedly took place, so how could he have smelled a "strong" urine odor anyway? And the stains that showed up under a blacklight? Some of them were in places my cat was never allowed or that were where furniture was. I requested all of the photos, and you can clearly see the bathroom door handle did not match the door knob that was there just 3 days prior when I had moved out. Why would they have replaced the door knob? And if they were replacing door knobs, why do it while you're painting? Seems odd to me. In one photo, you can clearly see the washer had been moved across the floor like they were replacing it. Laundry detergent glows under blacklight. Detergent easily could have gotten from the washer to the carpet when they moved it causing a glow. But does Windsor Oaks want to accept that? No because they can't charge for it then! If they were painting and paint dripped onto the carpet, that would also glow. I even bought my own blacklight and went over my new apartment with it. Guess what? Awesome apartment complex!!! The amenities are so beneficial to always have so close! The staff is very welcoming and always gives the best service. We LOVE living at Windsor oaks!!!

My family and I have lived here for 3 years now and we love it. You can't find this amount of space and quality anywhere else in the Fort. The girls in the office are always helpful and kind. The few times we have had to call for a service guy, they were there within a couple of days and did a great job.

We are moving from out of state with hectic and busy schedules and wanted to start the move in process early in the morning but manager denied us and forced us to wait till 10 a.m when their office opens. Its all about them! Customer means nothing at Windsor Oaks! We were not informed of incenitives, we had to ask about it as we were signing the contract, also big surprise came about mail box fee of $40 at the last moment while we are signing to move in.
