Loved living at Sawmill Heights. It's hard to find a place in the Sierras that are not only pet friend but that everything is included. Wish I still lived there.

I've been at sawmill on and off for 3 years. It's been great. Pet friendly, laundry on site, fitness center and great views. The people are so nice.

Sawmill Heights apartments is truly a hidden treasure in the Tahoe-Truckee area. The utilities are all included and the property is pet friendly. In a seasonal place, having utilities that stay at the same rate is a huge plus. It is also difficult to find places that allow dogs, even in such a dog friendly town like Truckee. It is located at the base of Northstar resort, which allows easy access to skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and shopping. It also has a bus system that runs from North Lake... Tahoe to Truckee,as well as Northstar, so you have easy, cheap transportation year round (if needed). Friendly community gives a truly welcoming feeling, and that you know who your neighbors are, which I also have found a rare thing to find these days. Playground, frisby-golf course,horseshoe pits, dog park and all the amenities truly make this place an awesome family friendly and comforting place to live. I would recommend this location. I enjoy it because It's pretty quiet, close to my job, and the staff is friendly especially with my dog, who very hyperactive and not many people are understanding of that. Also, it is nice in the winter because it is located right on Northstar mountain which supplies easy access to snowboarding and Free Northstar shuttles.

Lived here for four years and I think it's the best place in Tahoe. Cheap rent, free cable.
