It’s ok.

Edit (6/4/25) I moved in a month ago and still don’t have a working AC system. It’s so hard to move stuff and put things together when it’s 80 degrees in the apartment. PLEASE DO NOT MOVE IN WITHOUT SEEING THE APARTMENT AND MAKING SURE EVERYTHING IS WORKING. I asked for a discount to next month’s rent due to this inconvenience and request got ignored. Also the old termite damage is still there.

I moved into the apartment (4/30/25)without being able to view it even though it had been empty for...
weeks and telling them several times that I wanted to see it. On the day of move in they called saying the carpet was still wet, not sure why they waited until the day of move in to clean it. when I went to see the apartment, the carpet still had stains. They sent someone out that day to get them out. The office manager (Eduardo I think) (only male in there) had no clue which mailbox was assigned to me or what parking spot was assigned either. Basically the office doesn’t function unless Gabby is there, god forbid she takes a vacation or leaves.
The phones in the office rarely get answered. It’s obvious they don’t have enough staff in there. Best way to get a hold of them is to email but you don’t know if and when that email was read.
Moving in is a hassle. The movers have to park on the street and walk 5 minutes with heavy furniture to get to the elevators. You have to use the key fob to open the garage gate to get in, to get out and to access 2 of the elevators. It would be too convenient for them to have some back alley access closer to the elevators for the sake of moving. But at least your car can’t get stolen since you need a key fob to get out. Rob (I think) one of the maintenance guys lended my moves a huge moving cart which did help the process.
Btw patio in floor plan 22B isn’t big enough for furniture, not even a small bistro table.

By fat the worst place I’ve ever lived

The fire alarm is constantly going off. It has gone off 5 times in the middle of the night for the past year I’ve lived here and it is ear damaging loud. My AC has broke 4 times while being here. It is the worst place I’ve ever lived and I can’t wait til my lease is over in 2 months. DO NOT LIVE HERE

DO NOT rent at Apex MV

Don’t waste your time even touring. It’s horrible. The office staff is completely inept and lazy. The bldg is not kept well and there are major security and safety breaches that mgmt ignores. The lack of sound insulation in the “upgraded flooring” makes life miserable for residents living on lower floors. It’s as if there’s a herd of elephants running above us at all hours of the day and night.

Stay Far Away

Don't rent here. Yeah, the location is great as far as access to highways, downtown, beaches, shopping etc. go but management is the worst. As others have mentioned the building is in terrible shape, trash littered throughout the property, pet waste, elevators that are either broken down or reserved and incredibly slow. Loud, noisy neighbors in the common areas after quiet time, poor maintenance response time and lack of appreciation for current residents.

They are painting the building right...
now which means that contractors are putting up scaffolding. But since no schedule was given to residents as to when and what extent that was happening I had men looking at me through my open blinds while I was getting out of the shower to get ready for work. Nice! You know, the blinds were open to get some sunlight and the windows were open for some fresh air all the while painters were staring at me, my room and what ever else. Management has no respect or care for their current residents.

And the fire alarms. They go off all the time. The alarm went off yesterday while the scaffolding was going up. It's no joke. You could survey every resident that has ever lived there and they will tell you that the alarms go off ALL the time. It's to the point that nobody bothers to exit the building when they go off because it happens so frequently and it's always a false alarm. But it takes the fire department 20 or so minutes to get there and clear the building before the alarms go off. It is absolutely ridiculous.

This is NOT a luxury apartment community. It's a living nightmare. And not a single person in management on-site or at RW Selby cares. There is a mass exodus.
The pool are is awful. Sandwiched between two buildings and no deeper than 4 feet it's hardly a place to relax, get some sun and cool off. And the hot tub? Yeah, almost always "out of order" and never "hot" more like slightly less than luke warm.

One would think that such a nice, luxurious building would have full occupancy and be difficult to get into........Not here. A whopping 76% occupancy rate and a desperate promotion of one free month if you sign up now to try and lure new tenants. DON'T BE FOOLED. Is there any other "luxury" building in San Diego offering such a promotion? Nope.
I could go on and on but do your own research. Check Yelp. Virtually every single review since RW Selby took over is a 1 star. It would be negative if possible.

Your money would be better spent elsewhere.

Awesome Place to Live!

APEX Fashion Valley is an amazing place to live in. The staff is awesome, the amenities are great and the Apartments are well laid out and very reasonably priced and I'm across the street from a beautiful Mall. I expect APEX to be my long term home in San Diego!....Joseph Vilella
