Run Away

The staff here are horrible. There has been a loud banging in my apartment since move in and they refuse to fix. Also, there is no parking. The office refuses to remove abandoned vehicles or maintain the property.

Horrible Application Process

They don't communicate with you with potential issues AT ALL. Emails go ignored and you have to call repeatedly to get ahold of anyone. Don't waste your time.

starting to get fed up

we loved living here but for the past 5 to 6 months we have been dealing with neighbors having big loud barking dogs i was told i couldn't watch my daughters dog till we found a home for it cause it was too big. now we have neighbors with great danes and other big dogs 3 of my neighbors have dogs that bark and howl all day and night. i have written emails to the office even had to go up to the office several times every time i did it was the same old story we are trying everything we can they... sent letters and talked to the neighbors but the barking and howling keeps on. now we have a neighbor with a surround sound system and our walls are rumbling should i even attempt to try and ask the office for help i doubt anything would come of it.

Never would I recommend this place to anyone. Ever.

Parking is atrocious. Every spot is assigned and there are about 10 guest spots in the whole complex. You can't put anything in your garage except a car. This may seem reasonable except 1. my truck can't fit in the garage and 2. there is no storage in the apartment to put anything in so you're basically stuck with clutter and an empty garage you can't use. I tried to explain that I wouldn't be using my garage for parking because my vehicle wouldn't fit and I put alot of things in the garage to... make use of the storage space. I was told I had to move all of the things from the garage out because it had to be able to fit a car in it. I now am paying for an empty space that no one is using because the staff has no common sense. The management is extremely rude and non-negotiable.

There is no A/C in the apartments and the walls and ceiling are paper thin. Everything your neighbors do or say can be heard and especially through the roof. The days living here are extremely uncomfortable and noisy because you're right next to a busy street as well and car noise is loud. I don't even live on the street side, and I can hear every car that goes by.

For the price they charge, the craftsmanship in this place is atrocious. Everything has paint on it because they don't tape off things before painting. The cabinets have water damage that has been just painted over, the carpet has paint on it, there is no lighting and the floors are stained and dirty. For the price you pay, you can find a much better apartment than these, and I would advise you to look everywhere but here.

The best thing you can do for yourself is to not live here!

Lived here for 2 years. Parking is ridiculous. Parking spaces are way too small, there are not even close to being enough of them and there is no street parking! My boyfriend and I got home on Black Friday of last year and found a note on our door from the company that owns Montecito saying that we were not allowed to renew our lease and that we only had 39 days to move out or they would take us to court and file an eviction notice! We were in total shock we always paid our rent on time and we... never had noise complaint against us. We brought it up with the office and no one knew what we were talking about. It took 4 different staff members and 4 different answers and they finally said that would let us stay for 60 days. My boyfriend and I were not going to take our chances and declined this offer. The whole situation ruined our Christmas (spent looking for a new place to live and we couldn't put up any decorations because we needed to pack our stuff and prepare for the move). The cherry on top of the sundae was a couple of months before our move my car got broken into and they stole my garage/gate buzzer as well as a couple of other items. We reported it to the police and to the office. When it came time to move out I reminded the office of the break in because I wanted to know how much they were going to charge me for the buzzer since I never got it replaced. They said they had no record of us reporting the issue and if it did happen why didn't I show them the police report. I will tell you why because nobody asked me! I would've been happy to show the office.
Do not live here unless you want live in place with horrible parking, loud neighbors that don't get dealt with by the management or by the night patrol and an office staff that doesn't have a clue since the owner does not communicate with them!
