Your experience will depend on your apartment. Ours was facing the cul-de-sac behind us and unfortunately, the people who live in those houses are loud and inconsiderate. There were barking dogs 24/7, loud music all day and night, and barbeque smell filling up my apartment at 10pm. The sun also hits this side of the building and make it very hot. Unfortunately, bedroom B does not have an A/C, and you can't buy an A/C for your window. Ruth and Daria did help where they could. They talked to the... neighbors, but some people just don't care. Ultimately, the building is well maintained and looked after just a bit of an older building. Cars driving by shake the floor, the smoke detectors go off constantly every time you slightly burn something, and you can hear EVERYTHING. Your upstairs neighbors, your next door neighbors. The wait for the elevator can be long since there's only one. The laundry facility is a huge plus, lots of washers and dryers and it's rarely full. For the price, it's not a bad place to rent, but you get what you pay for in some respects.

Appliances break constantly, repairs ignored
About once a month, there is another issue with the dishwasher, the microwave, or the AC- They clearly bought the cheapest ones they could decades ago. Sercice calls are often ignored. Ruth promised a new elevator when we moved in, and we still have the same old lift breaking down often. The stairs are quite a walk in 110 degree valley weather.

Ruth: The Property Manager from Hell
Not a bad building itself. However, The property manager Ruth is thee absolute worst. Incredibly rude. Incompetent. Very unpleasant to work with. Takes forever to make repairs. Took several weeks to repair our air condition in the middle of a scorching LA summer. The elevator was down last Fall for almost two months. Our apartment had a fly infestation which she took several weeks to inspect and then did absolutely nothing about it. She doesn't treat tenants as a priority at all. Not to mention... she is very invasive and disrespectful. My Roomate is Asian and Ruth refused our request to remove her shoes when going into the room. Such a simple request, but her refusal speaks of her character which unfortunately is abysmal. Also don't have frequent guests/ significant others over, Ruth will assume they live there which violates your lease! Please do not do this to yourself. She is one of the worst humans I have ever met. Very unfortunate. The building could be very nice if they would do away with her. In our year living there, almost all of the tenants who were there upon our arrival had moved out. Why? Ruth.
