My partner and I lived here for our 4 years of undergrad at the university. This was our first apartment and it was the best experience we could've had. Castle Apartments is an amazing place to live and in a great location to get around town easily. My partner and I moved to Merced for university and we lived there all four years. It is a nice, quiet complex that is always kept clean and tidy, including the pool and laundry room. The staff, Brenda and Alex, are very nice and always helpful with fixing things right away. Overall this an amazing place to live and if we didn't have to move back after school we would of stayed there indefinitely.

My partner and I are both graduate students who lived at Castle for over a year, and were so thankful to get to live someplace with great management. Brenda, the front office person, and Alex, the maintenance person, were always so friendly, kind, and prompt. Both were always available to answer questions or tend to various requests. They were always really kind to our dog, too. We lived in an upstairs unit that got pretty warm during the summer, but the wall units made Merced summer mostly... bearable. I gave this review four stars, but would have given it five if the unit had central air (as opposed to wall units) and an in-unit washer/dryer (as opposed to the otherwise super clean laundry room). The rent was really affordable, and we were only a two minute walk from the bus, about an eight minute walk to the gym and SaveMart, and walked to Fruta Loca regularly. Brenda, the property manager is amazing. Alex from maintenance is responsive and thorough with work orders. I enjoyed living at Castle Apartments. The apartments are close to shopping centers, gas stations, and UC Merced. Neighbors are friendly and Castle Apartments are safe, peaceful, and should be a choice for your next apartment in Merced.

Living here was great. So close to stores and a great taco truck.
Brenda the manager was more than accommodating to us and were very nice during our stay at Castle Apartments.
It’s Family friendly. Maintenance is very responsive. It’s also only a 13 minute drive from UC Merced. I also felt secure while living here. Neighbors were friendly.
