There is a giant air gap in my AC system that pulls hot air and insulation dust from the building’s outer walls into my apartment. Management has fought against addressing it, saying that everyone’s unit is like that. I have been extremely patient, created service requests, emailed, and repeatedly asked for help.
My apartment has experienced recurring flooring and water intrusion issues since shortly after moving in. The flooring had already been replaced before I moved in and has required... additional replacement multiple times since. I also had a window fixture fall and strike me in the head, for which I received little more than an apology and replacement. There have also been repeated maintenance visits and disruptions, including maintenance entering my apartment while I was not home after I specifically asked that they not do so.
The hallway carpet has been another major frustration because terrible odors constantly permeate into my unit. My original request was simple: general cleaning around the elevator doors and surrounding common area. Instead, the carpet cleaning that was eventually performed created a much bigger problem. A terrible odor developed in the hallway. I repeatedly reported it. Rather than resolving the underlying problem, attempts were made to cover it with aerosol spray and heavily scented carpet freshener.
I repeatedly explained that covering an odor is not the same as fixing the problem. The smell has persisted for weeks, and I have continued asking for a proper resolution. Eventually, management told me they had provided all appropriate services and that no additional cleaning or changes would be scheduled.
There have also been recurring issues throughout the building, including stains and debris remaining in common areas, rejected requests for basic cleaning, fixtures and finishes needing attention, and repairs that often require multiple attempts.
Management needs to address the AC air gap and lingering odor rather than continuing to dismiss or cover the problems. I chose to live here and want to enjoy my home again. At this point, I am simply asking for these ongoing issues to finally be taken seriously and properly fixed so I can live in peace instead of worrying about what condition or smell I will come home to each day.
