Very disappointing application experience. We toured an apartment at this property and decided to apply. We paid the application fee and completed the required screening. My husband’s credit screening came back excellent.
After that, management requested additional sensitive financial information, including a bank account number. We were uncomfortable providing that specific information, but we were absolutely willing to provide alternative documentation to demonstrate our financial stability.... We offered other ways to verify our finances, but instead of discussing any alternatives, our application was immediately cancelled.
What was especially disappointing was the communication afterward. We were essentially told that if we were not comfortable providing the requested information, they could not move forward. This was not about refusing to provide financial documentation or being unwilling to qualify—we simply wanted to protect sensitive banking information while providing reasonable alternatives.
I understand that a property owner has the right to make a decision, but I believe applicants should be given a reasonable opportunity to provide alternative documentation when they are genuinely trying to meet the financial requirements. Overall, the application process and communication left us very disappointed.
