The amenities by themselves make this a great place to live, but the family who owns the place are incredibly kind and will go out of their way to help with anything they can, and quickly at that! The apartment itself is spacious and clean on move in. The lack of AC is not that big of an issue being so close to the ocean, an open window and door go a long way to making a very nice cross breeze. The other neighbors are also very kind and fun to speak with. I will add that parking outside the lot... of tight, so if you have anyone over often, it may be worth renting a second space.

One bedroom single in west Lawndale
This apartment building is a great start out location for a young professional working in the LA "south bay" area. It is only a five minute walk from two grocery stores and a 10 min drive from any other store you might need. The apartment is less than a mile away from a green-line metro station which can connect you to the farthest corners of LA even at the height of traffic. While the building is not in a ritzy beach neighborhood, it is only a few blocks away from those areas and rent is... very low for being only 3.5 miles away from Manhattan beach. No air conditioning units are allowed in any of the apartments within this building but utilities are included in rent and being so close to the ocean means that you really won't see temperatures that need more than a fan to deal with. All of that combined with gated parking makes this a great place for people new to the south bay.
