I have lived at the Newporter for many years. My children grew up here. It has been a wonderful home for us. My family of 4 has plenty of space. I am so thankful to have a garage attached to my house. each unit feels like a separate home. It is a quiet and safe complex. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice apartment in a nice neighborhood.

This place runs a bare boned operation and acts on bad faith. There is one person working the rental office name Terry who is the primary cause of my problems. When I was looking for an apartment to move in, I really needed a place that was going to be ready in two weeks which was going to be July 26 which Terry told me was going to be fine. I foolishly put down a holding deposit with my application without viewing the apartment that day because she said the unit was not ready and assure... me it will be ready for viewing the following week.
Fast forward a week, I was approved for the unit but the apartment was still not ready for viewing and she now decides to tell me she will be going on vacation for a week, the week of the 26th which was the move in day that she initially promised me. That when I know she is the only person that works at the office because I tried calling that entire week and it went to voicemail. When she came back the follow week which the week of July 29, she said she just got back and have no idea what is going on but offered a delayed move in date of August 1st but I wanted to at least see the unit first. I stop by the apartment but she said the unit is still not ready for viewing and said to come back tomorrow because apparently she only has her maintenance guys on Tuesdays. Ok fine, I showed up the next day and once again its still not ready. At this point I have had it with this complex and staff and decided to look elsewhere.
I told I was no longer interested in the property and they sent me a move-out statement that was trying to charge me for over $400 on top of keeping my holding deposit. They are trying to charge me rent for a place that was not even ready for a viewing. Obviously I will have to waste time and money to fight this in small claims court but I refused to let this type of behavior go. Just be careful if your considering renting here, I hate for you to hit the same type of issues as me.
